A Return to the Simple Things

Life is simple again The light of the sun A blue sky No implications for what is to come The trees outside my window Billowing in a gentle breeze Just because Small finches Cute and light Frolic on branches Because they can And sing Their tune Carried on The same breeze That rocks the trees And I Begin to sway too My mind At ease Thank God Life is simple again.

In This Moment

In this moment lies the regenerative power of transformation. I am so entrenched in the now there is no room for anything else. There is only my glow, my hope in a brighter tomorrow but more so a bright today. I hope in the now, in the present and I take all the time in the world to be present for this one moment. I am gracious and grateful for where I am. I have been torn asunder from wonder of what I could be or what I should have been. I should have been is passive. I am now is present and powerful. I have no thoughts for what I've lost but all my hope lies in this hour for what I can dream today.

I Allow My Spirit to Figure It Out

In the silence I relinquish all doubt I allow my spirit to figure it out I let go of what if, I let go of what if not I allow my spirit to figure it out I sit with confidence in my ability to be In tune with God's will and best wishes for me I listen for guidance I sit in stillness trust in my savior trust inside me I experience life in all it can be I remember hope I remember dreams I remember to live in sunlight beams In the midst of shadows cast in doubt I allow my spirit to figure it out

An Artist's Dream

For everyone with an artist's dream....keep dreaming in 2010 - Peace - +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ An Artist's Dream For Shawn I have an artist's dream It lives in me tugs at my heart strings Tells me I'm more than I am Makes me believe in me, that way I have an artist's dream and it is not in a locale not in a burrough not housed in building or a workplace It is in me It is me my faith my hope my being It drives me forward and crazy sometimes Yet still it returns to me like a reconciled lover I have an artist's dream that directs my ambition and is my ammunition for living

Still I am Still I be

Winter is a time of stillness, in that stillness find your best and true self. Blessings ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I have decided to not become and just be all those dreams that I hold in the palm of my hand I shake them like dice and let them roll bounce to the beat of my footsteps I walk gently amongst a forest of trees notice their expertise in being still still I am and still I be still I am and still I be the greatest gift you will ever see drop down from heaven bowing down on one knee... to God waiting for my James Brown cape

God Extends Grace

God extends grace in places with mold and mildew Grace comes in like scrubbing bubbles, working hard so you don’t have to God’s grace shovels away all that hard black snow that sticks to the mud flaps of your tires. (I’m from Pittsburgh, I know about these things). God’s grace is big enough to cover all of your tractor size sin and mine too which is approximately the size of every room - - in the Taj Mahal God extends grace where He need not too, over all those places you promised God you never would do - - again. God extends grace in between beats of a metronome, always on time, always in time, In my life and yours God extends grace.

What is Wisdom

This was a six-minute free write assignment on the topic of wisdom. Wisdom doesn't always take a whole lot of time, sometimes when it is ready, it just does. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ What is Wisdom? Solomon. My grandmother's knee. Not sure, but I think of Psalms or Ecclesiastes, and about how there's nothing new under the sun Wisdom is - like beauty is, or love is. Wisdom does. It is all those "best things" we measure our judgement against. It is taking an umbrella on a rainy day. It is knowing when to and when not to say. It is at age 40 not making the same mistakes as age 20. It is time gently rapping at experience's door or rain pelting heavily on tin. You can't help but hear it, you know when it comes in. Wisdom is as widsom does and for some better than others. It escapes us like salt through a sifter, at times smothers us like an avalanche or comforts us like a warm blanket Wisdom, time tested and manifested in days that lie behind...
